I pour all Belgian blondes into Duvel glasses because THAT IS HOW I WAS RAISED, LAY OFF ME. Although, you know, this is obviously trying to be like Orval, because that’s the latest weird, unattainable obsession of American craftbrewers.

Anyhow—I’m working on some high-concept reviews involving social commentary and illustrations, and all of those are taking way too much time because I am very busy with actual work. So what we’re gonna do in order to generate content is we’re gonna blow through that giant box of Prairie I got last month. Because this is what Americans do now. Americans love marathonin’ it. Back in the primitive days we’d just watch one episode of the Jeffersons or whatever. Nowadays we watch and entire season of Girls in one night, because entertainment now has to resemble work or else we feel guilty for partaking in it.

So, yeah, this tries to be Orval and it does an okay impersonation. I like it better than Greenflash’s iteration, but the same as Rayon Vert, Hop’s hoppiness is a bit sticky and American and in some un-articulable way it just don’t jibe up with the Belgian Blondey-ness of the beer’s opening half. Pretty good, still.
